going faster
well id like to take the v6 to the track one more time before the season is over, really wanna improve on the big 17.6 i ran last time, so ill give u all the details i can as well as my slips from last time and please, help all u can, i have a 95 v6 with cai, u/d pulley, dual exhaust, 17" rims with 245 wide bf goodwrichs, umm i have check engine for lean codes, thats about it for perfromance, what should i do about tire pressures, last time i shifted at 4800 but i kno on my tach it has the redline there, then a different one at 6000, where is the best to shift cuz i know i dont make power all the way to 6, id really like to be able to hit a 16 anything, any help would be apreciated, and p.s. last run was horrid cuz i blew my launch, im #5091

and yes it is a 5 speed

i hope to god that it is an automatic.
sorry..that wasnt nice...my bad..
anyway...what did you have the pressure set at in the rear tires? did you do stuff like let the gas run very low before going to the track? did you remove the spare/jack? do you have other heavy stuff, like a system in it? try to concentrate on getting some weight out of it...
also, at what RPM were you launching? was it spinning, or bogging coming out? your rear tires are 245-??-17? what was the factory size on that? because your car, should at least keep up with my daily driver, and it runs 16.1s...

last time i took it right off the street, tires were prolly all around 35, system wasnt in but spare and jack were, not a whole lot of gas if i remember correctly but ill have less next time and maybe ill put some 92 octane just for fun
yeah..try the better fuel,...get every bit of weight out that you can....drop the tire pressure down..maybe to around 25ish..i havent run street tires in a long time, i think 25 will be safe at the track..just be certain to fill them before you leave...you do have a full length CAI? are you shifting hard? how about the launch?
anyone else, i know u guys like to critique. i was wondering, would i see a benifit from putting my stock wheels back on, tires are not as wide but im sure there lighter, with the v6 sometimes i wonder if 245 is to much tire for it anyways, any imputs?

Why the higher octane for the hell of it? I'll comment on that more in the next paragraph. Get your stock rims with some good tires back on the car before you go to the track next. Aren't they 16s? The extra size and weight is hurting you.
As for the octane; unless you advance your timing and have it tuned for 91+ octane, it's not going to do anything at all for you.
Next up: work on your launch technique. I have never seen a civic with those kinds of 60' times. Are you bogging or spinning at all?

ok first shift @ REDLINE. even though u dont make any pwr after say 5K wut u do is prime for the next gear. if u shift @ 5K the next gears is Cr@p and ur totally out of the pwr band. shift @ redline and launch around 2500RPM
do that and u should be in the 15secs or @ least 16. wut year is ur V6?
