2011 Mustang V6 v. C2 Vette
Yesterday, my girlfriend and I were driving down PCH on our way to meet friends in Newport, just after have a nice lunch in Huntington Beach. I pulled up along side a maroon C2 Vette being driven by a younger guy. As we pull up to the light, it didn't occur to me that he'd want to race, so the light turns green, I take-off like I normally would. He on the other hand was on it and proceeded to run it through the first few gear. I of course took off in pursuit and got up along side him as we both slowed down for a red light. Light turns green before we come to a stop and we both punch it from about 15mph. I was in 1st and quickly jumped out to an early lead. I took it up to about 80mph at which point I probably had 2-3 cars on him.
It was a lot of fun and the guy smiled as he drove by. Don't usually get to race cars from that generation. Given the results, I pretty positive that he only had the standard 327 because if he had one of the hotter 327's, a 396 or a 427, I think the results would have been flipped.

Yes, my uncle told me that a while back. He's owned a bunch of big block C2's including an L88. I didn't notice the hood at the time but I'm pretty positive that it was a small block because even if he had one of the hotter 327's, like the FI 327, I think it would have been a better race. I think I could have taken this particular Vette in my bolt-on '83.
