To settle the debate here you go. I watched this as soon as I got home to see what I had ran against. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AfmkwY-Q_oM

I was more impressed with both cars in this review... GT 13.5 at 104 mph, 370z 13.3 at 107 mph.

Interesting as I counted approx 5-6 seconds and the Mustang was ahead by a minimum of 1/2 car length and in the next frame the Z was ahead by that same 1/2 length. Magic.

Haha, I know what you mean. I don't take any of them serious, but these reviews are still entertaining none the less.

nice kill, those 370zs are real nice cars. However, they arent as maxed out from the factory as some may think.

The stock catback exhaust is pretty restrictive, and the stock dual intake design is restrictive as well. People get tripped up about the intake because when they switch them for K&N filters or any other replacement filter or CAI, they dont get any power (some lose some in fact). The actual design is maxed out, but companies already have "Long tube intakes" for the Z that acually change the intake design and it yeilds substantial gains. The stock cats (as in just about any cars) are choking points as well.

I've seen those Zs with a catback, long tube intakes, and HFCs gaining up to 50hp with an ECU reflash.

^^^ I've seen those long tube intakes and they do seem to help. I checked into them for my 07 G35, but at that price its a tough mod to go for.

Thanks! The guy said he had a catback but I am not sure about an intake. He said something after he said all I have is a catback but I wasnt really paying attention to his as a kenne bell cobra was rolling in lol. I would definitely like to run one from like a 40mph roll and see what would happen than. When I raced a g37s with an intake and catback a few weeks ago, I killed him more on the roll than I did from a dig for some reason (and he gave me a cheap 2 quick a$$ honks).

What is missing is the doughnuts on the walmart parking lot test.

Stone, if you do decide on an intake for the HR, i reccommend the Stillen Gen 3. it has the best results out there. You will have to remove the front fascia during the install to get the intakes in the proper spot though. That will get you some nice power up top, not to mention a nice growl past 4000 rpms.

If you want to touch up the exhaust without buying a catback (since its your wife's car), you could get some high flow cats from Berk. No CEL at all, passes emissions, and gives a noticible bump in power in the mid range. It really enhances the VQ sound without making it sound like rice or just unbearable.

Thanks, Jrock. I know the two mods you're talking about. I hope I can eventually get around to getting them done. Damn parts are just so expensive for that car. The cat-back looks (the entire exhaust system for that matter) looks extremely restrictive. Tons of bad bends and flattened places in the pipes.
