Default I'm back...

Well, some of you know this, some of you don't, but I was racing a Nissan GTR a few months back and my clutch went out. It was on its last leg anyway and it had been slipping for a while, but it went out with a bang. When I pulled it pieces of it were completely missing. It was a fantastically fun time trying to get home. Anyway, I bought and installed a Stage 2 spec clutch and have been breaking it in lately, thus no race/kill stories. I have had it broken in for about a month now but haven't really had a chance to race. Got a few in the past week or so:

1. Short little burst with a Cobalt SS (supercharged version). I saw him slowly pulling up on me and the highway was clear. We are going around 70mph and I just down shift into 4th. I kind of tapped on the go pedal a few times to see if he would bite and he does. I figure he didn't have much more than exhaust so I just left it in 4th and stayed side by side with him from 70-90ish until I actually got into my power band in 4th and then just started walking him hard. Let off around 120 with me about 2 cars up.

2. Maybe 2 minutes after the race with the Cobalt I am driving along and I see a VW Golf GTI and I am just casually driving but as I pull up along side him I see in 1/4 window he has some vw club sticker on the side and he starts hitting it a few times to let me hear his little bov. He then punches it, I slam it into 3rd and just absolutely obliterated him. On the hit he maybe jumped out 1/3 of a car and it was immediately closed. By the top of 3rd I was 1 1/2 cars up, shift into 4th, put another 2-3 cars on him and let out around 115-120ish. After that I slowed back down immediately rather than coast to a stop but I don't think he wanted to play anymore because he went even slower and took the next exit.

3 Raced an 03/04 Cobra. I was just driving along and saw the cobra, gave him a rev and we both hit the highway. We end up lining up with him not slowing down to less then 50mph which is around 5k RPM's for me aka super high. I don't have much trouble walking most stock blower cobra's so I figured what the heck. He honks it off and off the hit he put about 1/3 of a car on me, I immediately have to shift and am now back a full car. From there I was able to stop his pull and just stayed a full car back all the way to 130mph when I let off. I wanted another run, one from a lower roll but the guy just kept going after that so I let him go.

I ended up seeing his car on the local forums so his mods are as follows: J LT CAI, mac prochamber, magnaflow catback, stiegmier stage 5,billetflow plenum/TB, billetflow 2.76 and idlers, 60lb injectors, twin ford GT pumps, MGW orange handle 491rwhp/473rwtq.

Glad she's back up and running again! I think a modded turbocharged Balt would be a much better run for you. I had a supercharged one, and it was pretty decent from a roll, but even with all the crap I had done to it, it still would'nt of stayed anywhere near your GT.

Close run with that Cobra. That's saying a lot to be able to run with a Cobra with those mods.
