Default First time at track, here's my times!!!

My pretty much stock LX 5.0...only mods are fenderwell cold air intake, and Flowmaster Cat-Back. Not sure if my times are that great for a Fox Body 5.0,but I was consistant as hell. 7 runs, and best time was 14.463 @ 95.47 MPH, worst time was 14.634 @ 95.21. Reaction times best to worst were .044 to .462. 60 foot best to worst were 2.186 to 2.315. First time ever at the track, and was a blast!!! Met some real cool folks, lost to a newer Trans Am LS1 by 1/10th of a second, and lost to a new 2011 5.0 which ran a 12.523 @ 112.90 (that was my quickest run, the 14.46)...won against 2 nice Fox's and a SN95 4.6...win some lose some and didn't care either way, just doing my best! Any comments good or bad appreciated!!!

you can improve your ETs with a decent set of tires and get those 60s in the 1.9s at least

Thanks for the feedback folks! It's a 5 speed, and I was leaving at like 2000 RPM's and shifting mid yellow, and I think next time I'll try leaving at like 1300ish and shifting right when I hit yellow. Yeah I've heard that drag radials could help a bit. I've been doing appearance mods over performance mods (just bought the exhaust because I was exhaustless from cats back when I bought it and have emmissions coming up in August, and bought CAI cuz I got a deal from a buddy) mostly because even at 176k it runs extremely solid...figure I'll do performance last. So gonna buy new Corbeau GTS seats, carpet, dual A-Pillar pod and Autometer Cobalt gauges this winter. However will definitely buy a Pro 5.0 shifter soon...guy at the track let me sit in his Fox Body GT and check his Pro 5.0 out, and it was awesome compared to mine!

Guess I coulda taken that question different...next performance mods (after appearance/or when it needs it) include: Rebuild bottom end or buy 331 short block, Trick Flow top end kit, and that should put me somewhere near 400 at the engine I'm assuming. Before then, I'll be buying headers, smog pump delete kit and an off-road X pipe. Unfortunately have emmissions this year, and last emmissions in 2013. Don't know if I wanna buy and have headers and mid pipe switched out, and then have to switch mid pipe back out in 2 years for emmissions...

Impressive for 176k and stock. You don't see too many times like that out of a stock Fox with that many miles.

Thanks! Yeah it's a really solid motor. Bought it 17 months ago with 174k, and it doesn't smoke or leak anything at all. For all I know, it coulda possibly been rebuilt. Either that or just solid...I drive it pretty tamely on the street, hopefully it stays solid for a few years until I do something engine wise. It only gets driven on sunny days so...
