You guys have lost it. Have you all forgot that there are several factors in what a car runs. You cant just buy a Vette and say it runs 12's out of the box. Track condition, DA and a whole other things play a part in what it will run. I have yet to see a stock Vette break into the 13's where I live.

Anybody know what gears a C5 auto has? I ran 13.5 stock with the same engine and tranny in a heavier car (Camaro). Other people with 2.73-geared autos have run faster, my ex g/f ran 13.36. With 3.23's I've seen 13.2. and in St. Louis we do not generally have very good atmospheric conditions/density altitude (humidity). Maybe the Vette guy is lying about how fast he is to lure you.

C5 autos I have seen run usually run mid 13s. Manuals are usually low 13s. I played with a stock auto C5 the other day and was ahead from 15-50 where he let off. He is probably low 13s with the mods. Should still be a good race though.

going to race in a couple weeks. and i surprise him with some mods. and the guy name on here is 97vette. he thinks his vette is the best thing since the gay **** sites. ill beat him by atleast 1length.

my cousin has a 01 auto vette i rode it in tonight i and honestly it doesnt feel that fast it handles great but it doesnt feel a whole lot faster than my gt i know it is, i guess his car is so quiet and smooth and mine is loud as hell so it seems faster than it really is lol
