Default First run since getting "tuned"......

Well I got my Christmas present in the mail the other day, and the wifey let me have it early I'll eventually get the gears in, when the ol man can keep a bay open long enough for me to slide in there. Until then Im really enjoying the Bama tune I got to go with the gears. Really woke the car up, lot crisper throttle response, etc.

My brother and I were out shopping (no homo, ha), and our buddy whos in from the Navy came out too. He has a 96-98 cobra with 3.73's, lt's, catted x, Bassani mufflers, jlt cai, "C" head swap, and its been dyno tuned. Put down 303/310 on a conservative tune, but leaning out past 6k.

My car has a Bama 93oct "race" tune, otherwise stock.

I was by myself, he had my 300lb brother riding with him.

So, from a 20ish roll, we're even through 1st, chunk 2nd and stay even halfway through that gear, then he pulls a car through 3rd. I stop the pull and almost start to inch back (it seems), and we shut'er down at 120 with him a car ahead.

The 2 clean runs both ended the same. I have a night vid of the last run, where we both hesitated after the honks with him getting the hit. I'll post it if theres any give-a-damn, but its your usually cellphone nightvid.

All in all I was pretty damn pleased with the outcome, even though it was a loss. I think after the gears, both of us by ourselves, it'd be a real tight run!

Thanks for looking!

POST the Vid! Glad you got that tune man. He ought to be trapping 108 at least with his mods. From what I've seen, the 96-98s don't pull all that great ETs due to a few downfalls, but trap well. My cousin trapped 106 yesterday in his 96 with stock gearing and no LTs, so your buddy should be a good bit faster. Point being, I think you did really well against him. Can't wait to see what those gears do for ya, man.

'Preciate it buddy. I thought I held up pretty good too. Both alone it'd been 2-3 cars to 120mph, but it is what it is.

I feel that in the same air I had my last outting, the car should be close to a 13.59 @ 104ish maybe? Completely shooting from the hip on that guess, but it's definately stronger, 'specially through 3rd gear.

These vids are abnormally horrible, even for night vids. My brothers phone usually takes great vids, but these.... meh. I'll get this thing in the daylight sometime or another

He spun hard and missed 3rd REAL bad here....

This is the last run... May have been 1.5cars, we all said 1... 6 in one, 1/2 dozen in
the other

You should definitely be in the 104 range now.

Good runs!! Your car held up very good to still have the 2.73's in it!! Once the 3.73's are in Ryan will have his hands full with the ole' 3.7.

We could always hook mine and Ryans car up to get an idea where you would stand.

Just a heads up, saw a video the other day of a v6 guy losing his driveshaft after pulling his limiter. Be careful out there and upgrade your driveshaft if its that cheap one piece unit.

Stock 2 piece DS that broke? Those things are supposed to hold, if its the same one the 3Vs had, anyway...
