im confused..you HAVE a high stall convertor and you launch from idle, or youre thinking about getting one?

when i went from a 2500 to a 3500 it made a HELL of a difference, but it will vary from car to car depending on your camshaft's power band...for instance, my cam specs list peak hp at 3300-6500, so when launching at 2500, i wasnt at peak hp until i got the rpms up, but launching in the power band, makes a big difference...but, i dont see how a convertor could ever hurt you, at least not one that is 32-3300....obviously, if youre not as heavily cammed as i am, it wont make as Big of a difference

you mean that the tires wouldnt bite? why not invest in some good tires, if nothing else, to throw on at the track?

man, that sucks about your wreck..i dropped my torque convertor last weekend...so my car isnt even mobile..

nittos..yuck...my brothers 69 coronet has a crate motor in it, and hes running 13.30s @ 105 spinning no matter how he comes out...i am not a fan, and as most people will tell you, and im a big supporter of hoosier...have you given thought to getting a GOOD set of track tires, and a cheap set of rims, and keeping regular street tires for daily driving?

well i went to the tranny shop today to get my exact stall guess what, its only like 18-1900 so now i think there is something wrong with my tranny, because it doesnt wanna grab until 32-3300, so now im pissed becase i want a bigger stall like around 2800 to support a cam i want in the future. but i thought i had alot better tranny and i bragged it up but i guess not, also i see why i didnt pick much up in the 1/4

That sucks if there's something wrong with your tranny dude, sorry to hear about your accident too. I'm just waiting for my tranny to asplode. Fortunately this car is pretty much a weekend car so it doesn't see the day to day abuse, but that almost makes it worse because I rape the thing every chance I get to drive it hah.

What an expensive *** replacement though. Hopefully it's not as bad as you think it is. I'll probably drop the 3500 or so on a custom bulletproof gearset when the time comes, but I'm definitely not looking forward to it.
