As many have stated before this, street racing is done many times on a desolate road w/ very few people in the area. I personally race in an industrial park away from everyone. While this is not an excuse for the illegal activity, it does disprove your statement about street racing people not caring about anyone else in the world or whatever you said. I have done stupid things w/ my car but I have never caused an accident, been issued a ticket, or hurt anyone while street racing. This does not mean that I am perfect but I do use some degree of common sense on a Sat. night.

P.S. If you do not want to read about street racing, do not read the posts. This is the STREET/Strip section so you can expect some street racing stories to be posted....I guess..

Thank-you for your time.

FWIW, Ok, never said that I NEVER have engaged in a street race and I also know that activity has existed since there were 2 cars on the planet.
I've lost friends street racing (several) but never have lost any at the drag strip.
I've also knew 1 guy that ended up doing 3 years in the 'big house' and losing everthing due to a street racing accident.
Don't understand how if you live on the east coast a dragstrip would be ' to far away'. I can understand that they close for the winter and that sux. Live out here and towing 2-400 miles is just another weekend at the races.
I must just be a little more serious about racing than some folks here but then there are some that exceed my efforts....

Dude get over yourself, you are no more serious about your efforts than anyone else, racing is about having fun, making friends and working on your car. PS any timeslips yet?

You just may have more money than other people, since I dont own another truck and a trailer that may be a bit difficult... I'm a poor college student.

the cops shut down a road around where i live so people can race in a controlled area. they turn this place into the dragstrip when the strip is not open. sometimes there are as much as 30 different cars there, but nobody there to just watch
