Preloading?
Ok my friend says tht holding the brake and slightly getting on the gas up to 1500-2000rpms and then luanching is just as bad a neutral drop. I think hes crazy, but whos right?

It would take a long time to mess the tranny up beyond a driveable condition just by preloading the suspension before take off. You can actuall power brake an auto all you want, it would still take a good bit of time to ruin the tranny.

I never said tht it is just as bad as a neutral drop, i said tht it will do basically the same things because it will ruin the 1st gear and the torque converter, but it will ruin the tranny eventually.

True, when you have the converter loaded in low gear you are building up heat in the trans/converter. Tha's why I've always used a trans cooler on every car I've ever raced.
Failure of converter/trans? Nope, not if they are in good shape to start with........
