First race in the new GT

First race in the new GT
was at a light with a white SS camaro, looked brand new. 2012 at least. super clean. I didn't pull up next to him but hung back just a bit. this a spot where we are both in a turn lane going left and my lane will run out after ironically about 1/4 mile. My plan is not to race but to just be peppy and get around him. I do this weekly at this stop light.
light goes green. Pull out steady but quick. so does he. Making long *** turn onto new road. Shift into 2nd. about 2.5K rpms and in 2nd gear. Damn he wants to race. As soon as we are both straight I put the gas down and the car stands up. He is doing the same. I expected him to blow me a away like I was sitting still. I shift into 3rd PERFECTLY. He and I are dead even but he is isn't pulling on me at all? Engine sounds like v8.... not a v6... Seems like it was an automatic. Anyway my lane runs out and I brake and jump behind him. or her. who ever it was.
That car should have walked me hard. I don't think this person was just messing with me either. so what gives? I had my car on the 87 Street Tune. Mods listed.
maybe he had no traction?
edit: ok the exhaust was NOT the quad tips. I am thinking this was a 305hp v6 with an SS badge. the back end was all I could see and it looked like this
but he didnt have the bottom part of the bumper black, it was all white. and i know it was an SS badge, i looked at it the whole time i was stopped.
Oh well. no shame in staying with a 300hp car right?

Congrats on the kill man. Either two things happened. If the guy was driving a SS he was probably just messing with you or it had to have been a 6er. I raced one of those things (SS) a while back (having every bolt on under the sun) and it wasn't pretty. Let us know if you find out any info on the car.
