Default Elevation

My friend says runs a 14.6 with his 03 GT. He has catted x-pipe magnapacks. I told him that I though his time was kinda slow, but he says it's cuz the elevation (like 3,500 ft). Is that right?

thats true to a point, the air is density can affect air intake performance but i would not say that is a major reason..... other factors are more involved

Thought so, I 've been in his car and it has power (compared to my V6 anyways). So maybe he's just too timid or something.

I'm at about 4,000 ft, ran a 14.6, ls-1's run low 14's, C5 Z06 vetts are low 13's. So i would say 4,000ft adds about .5sec to your e.t.

Elevation can make a huge difference. At 3,500' the performance loss is very noticable vs. sea level. My home track is nearly 6000' above sea level, and the performance loss is very significant. I ran mid-high 12's @ 112 or so in my 01 S281, and at sea level I am convinced it would run 11's on street tires.
