Could be from your tires not being balanced or a band being broke in the tire.

Good luck bro. I didn't see anyone giving you any advise so figured I would give you a idea. Check for dent looking grooves on your side walls on the front.

Next time (in CLEAR traffic), if the other guy won't line up beside you and leave on the signal, then let him go. Chasing that guy like you did in traffic, doing 120 mph flybys, etc, is what gives the rest of us a bad name for street racing. I'm surprised you didn't get ripped apart by the S/S crowd.

And I agree you have a tire out of balance.

Yeah I should have just let him go. My testosterone and stupidity level might have been a little higher than usual that night. I'll do my best to refrain from doing that the next time that happens.

Thanks for the info! I'll try to get my front tires balanced when I have free time this weekend.

What mods do you have? Also my man there are cars that are worth getting a ticket for and a Del Sol is not one of them. Not flaming you broham because I can see after thinking a bit, you see that it wasn't a wise move. I've had many a Dodge Caravan pull up beside me, rev the engine and leave the light buring rubber. Just something to think about.

I ran my neighbor several months ago and only beat him by a couple of car lengths.... I believe I posted iirc it was a 65 to 130 run. Turbo kits are pretty cheap and I've seen numerous engine swaps with turbo setups now. I wouldn't write them all off, I'm pretty sure my neighbors del sol is capable of bruising some egos. (If I am not mistaken he recently turned up the boost and retuned...not even sure I could take him now)

Edit:
https://mustangforums.com/forum/stre...o-del-sol.html
near the top of 2nd I started to creep...shifted to 3rd and started to pull.... hit 4th and let off at 130 with maybe 1 to 1 1/2 lengths on him (really hard to tell from the side mirror though).
FWIW I measure lengths as space between (apparently the 'wrong way')... when I say 1 to 1 1/2 lengths I mean space between bumpers not his bumper at my bumper.

Yep.. as others said and you know.. time and place and good reason... If someone wants to fly by me I don't care, I let them. I let people pass me in my car whenever they want to. The exception is when people pass me then slow down forcing me to slow down.. That makes me so angry...

So my story for that, I don't know if I mentioned it before but last year I was driving down a long winding mountain road going down hill.. I drive 5mph over the speed limit and use cruise control. A truck comes up behind me and passes me, then slows down... i give him a few minutes to decide to speed up but doesn't.. so I pass him, as I go to pass him he floors it, this on a 2 way highway, not a place I would race. I floor it too and easily/quickly pass him and once i have a good distance on him I slow back down.. he comes back up and looks like he wants to pass me again so i say, no way. We were at a point where I can see miles down the road below us and it's fairly straight (A few long sweeping curves but no big deal) So I floor it again and hit about 140 and keep it up for a bit then go down to about 110 till I can't see the truck for quite awhile before slowing back down to my normal 75. I didn't see him again...

I only have 4.10 gears, Borla Stinger Catback, drop in K&N filter, and on 91 Bama race tune right now. Yeah definitely not a wise move on my part but I'm sure some of you guys have done the same at one point or another lol.
