Default Not really a run.......but :)

I had the incredible fortune of pulling up to a light this morning next to a pristine 1966 AC Cobra with 427 badge on the side. This was misleading since he said that he had a 351 in it, but it wasn't a kit car. The thing sounded awesome coming through the header side pipes. I really didn't expect him to run, but when the light turned he took off in a "spirited" fashion which caught me by surprise. Of course, I responded in kind with no chance at all. The dang thing was freaking fast. It was just a short sprint, but oh so much fun to actually see one of those things run. So......race, not really, but we did have a short friendly run together. The new and the old Cobras had a fun time.

Weighing in at only a little over a ton, it doesn't take much to get a Shelby A/C Cobra to accelerate like a scalded rabbit. I ran one(kit) with a 427 a few years ago from a 45 mph roll, and he ate my lunch.

Man, I love those damn things. They usually do run out pretty good. I'd be more than happy even with a kit Cobra.

Yep the cobras are sweet. I work with a guy that has a factory 5 kit. All it has is a gt40 5.0 in it and it's pretty impressive.

*sigh* The old fart keeps forgetting about my smart phone. I could have snapped a pic when we were chatting.

It was silver with black stripes and black side pipes like this one
