Racing the Hellcat Challenger
So, i was on the first wave of the media launch for the 2015 Challenger SRT Hellcat. Drive impressions are under embargo, but videos are not so I got up a couple videos of me taking it down the quarter mile.
It was a bare setup quarter mile, running on the on-board timing system rather than lasers, but it gives you an idea of what it can do. I made two runs (one in a black car, one in a red car) on a fully unprepped track and managed a best of 11.8 at 118mph. in my second run, i came out too hard and had to get in and out of it at the start so i went 12.5 at 116. some guys damn near put it into the wall at the starting line, coming out just a little too hard.
Again, i cant go into much detail about the car until the 22nd, but I figured that some of you might like an early look from the newest competition.
The first video, i forgot to turn the camera off...so there is the pass and then a minute+ of me driving down the return road.
Finally, i have a video of me with the Hellcat on the road course. I started first of five, and finished first.
First lap is a pace lap, second and third laps are wide open, fourth lap is a cool down. Top speeds on the back stretch got up around 140 and the front stretch got up to 125 or so.

I thought about posting them in the video section, but since they are directly racing and since some of you will likely be dealing with them soon, i thought that the racing crowd would be more interested in them than the general video viewers.

awesome vids! I knew before the hp numbers were released that it would be a bit more than the gt500. There's no way after coming into the game so late, they would have this car be less powerful than the shelby. Especially since I heard they wanted it to be a 200mph car, and being how heavy these things are it needs lots of horsepowers!
I cant wait to get one in my work so we can see what it really puts down to the tires. assuming it should be 640~ area. Also I'm really hoping I can find one on the streets
