Ok I've had my 2014 Mustang GT for just over a year now and had my first real stoplight drag the other day. I've had a few little rolling challenges or quick runs in town, but this was at a country light so I could really let it loose. Thing is I don't think I did very good against what looked like a late model Ford Fusion. I was thinking it was a SEL, but from some quick research I think it must have been the awd sport model. He got a good car or two jump on me until about 40-50 and then I passed him like he was standing still. Not sure if he was letting up at that point or not, but to be fair I didn't get a good launch as I wasn't sure he was going until the light turned and I didn't have my car revved much over idle. So am I a bad driver or just the fact I didn't get a good launch and he might of had awd?

 

I'm going with bad driver. LOL

Bad launch. Those cars make about 260hp/260tq through a 6 speed auto, I think 3600-3800 lbs. They can move out the hole really hard..for a family car.

 

Gotta get a good launch or its over. Or least not the beat down you'd like. Doesn't matter what you're up against.
