V6 vs Focus
That's still not going to be enough. Now there is a slight chance you could win if you hit every one of your gears on the nose and he misses a few shifts and providing the fact you keep the race to under 80 mph, in that scenario and only that scenario do you have a shot at winning. Remember these cars can run GT times. Best of luck to you.

You have to remember that just because on paper you'll lose just be the better driver.
SVT's that hit 16's are because they are not that great at shifting or shifting at stupid rpms like 4K. Just be the better driver and you may come out on top.

I don't know where you got that... The SVT Focus was not built for speed. It was given enough hp to make it a little more fun in the curves. It is built to handle, and it does it well.
Stock for stock a SVT Focus WILL easily beat a v6 Mustang. And remember, there is quite a aftermarket for the focus, as well as a few diffrent companies that produce blowers just for the svt, then your taking about 220 hp or so with a fairly low boost.
I hate people thinking of every focus as the SPI that most people are driving. There are quite a few diffrent engines for them.
2.0 SPI <--- about the most crappy engine ever put in a car.
2.0 Z <--- what quite a few of them are, and the SVT focus sports one of these, with diffrent headers intake exaust ext.
2.0 and 2.3 duratec <--- the 2.0 produces a little more than the 2.0 z, but the 2.3 is a hell of an engine. Quite a bit of ft/t and responds VERY well to mods. They posted a dyno of a 8-10 hp increase with just a cai on the focus forums, and sevral turbo and superchargers are in the works. This is also the engine used in the mazda's new lineups.

Well dude, unless your car is really well off in mods, he will own your ***. A guy I work with owns one of those and that thing is fairly fast, and it has no top speed limitator and he hit 135 with the car and it was still accellerating, but he was too scared to push it any furthur. Remember dude, this car was designed and built by SVT, you know that team that made the 394 hp SVT Corba, and the new 450hp Shelby Cobra. He may have a four, but he doesn't have cheap crap under the hood, that car is built for speed and only for speed.

Let's just say... 235 hp to the wheels on 7 psi after being swapped. The car was put very close to the 13s.
