Default Drag Tires

What is the biggest size tires i can put on a stock 86 mustang? I have been told that 26x10.5-16 will fit on the car.. i would like to retain the stock rims and those are 16", will the 26x10.5 fit on there? can i go bigger? i dont want to modify the body or tub it or whatever you call it or anything like that, also it has 4 cyclinder lowering springs on it, should i change those out?

i put this is the 5.0 section with no luck so i figured id try my luck in here

ON a stock 5.0, you dont need the 10.5. I had MT ET Drag 26x8.5 and that was too much tire for 250-260rwhp with gears. U need 300 plus the get the advantage of the bigger tire. You would bogg down really bad with that big of a tire. This is if u are talking about a slick. Are u talking slick or drag radial? M/T dr's come in 275 16. Those would go nice.

by far NOT STOCK, it just has stock upper and lower control arms and im talking about the mickey thompson ET drags the D.O.T. approved radial the motor is a D.S.S. aluminum 306 and a **** load of mods its got like 400+ HP and then spray... so i need good tires i need a lot of tire to go to the ground, when i meant stock i meant the body wise, like no modification to the body, like what will fit on the stock 5 star pony rims?? what size tire do i need to use? i have nittos right now and they suck d1ck i hate them, they dont hook worth a ****...

Since when does "it just has stock upper and lower control arms and im talking about the mickey thompson ET drags the D.O.T. approved radial the motor is a D.S.S. aluminum 306 and a **** load of mods its got like 400+ HP and then spray..." mean stock? Well in that case, you can run 28x11.5 if u want.

MT ET DRAGS are not D.O.T. approved. They are not a drag radial either. ET Drags are full-out drag slicks. You may mean MT ET streets. That is a D.O.T. approved tire. Check out 5.0 or MM&FF for some adds. They should have pictures.
