with street tires and sport springs it is hard to get below 2.0 due to wheel spin. Some of my best times on street tires was a launch of 2000 rpm or less.

Just get drag radials; the best I've done on regular street tires is 2.0. If I try to gun it they just sit there and spin, sometimes even mid-track.

buy tires if you can, but that is always a given. what does your car run in the 1/4?

i must have completely sucked

but for you, i would say invest in tires, cause your not haveing trouble keeping traction to pull a 2.0 on stock tires,
i would say that with some dr's you should improve it a bit better

99GT 5sp 4.10's and MT ET Street Radials = a crappy 2.050 for a 14.086@99.37

you guys think i should have pulled a 1.8** or is that wishing for too much?

You should hit a 1.6, 1.7, with those tires and gears, put about 14 pds in the tires and heat them up real good and there u go

U can cut much better than 1.8. I ran a 1.87 on Falken street tires. Do a second gear burnout to get those slicks sticky and launch off the rev limiter. I did just this in my 99gt with 3.73's and everything went great. The halfshafts CANT like this, but i had no problems. Good luck!
