i must have completely sucked

but for you, i would say invest in tires, cause your not haveing trouble keeping traction to pull a 2.0 on stock tires,
i would say that with some dr's you should improve it a bit better

99GT 5sp 4.10's and MT ET Street Radials = a crappy 2.050 for a 14.086@99.37

you guys think i should have pulled a 1.8** or is that wishing for too much?
U can cut much better than 1.8. I ran a 1.87 on Falken street tires. Do a second gear burnout to get those slicks sticky and launch off the rev limiter. I did just this in my 99gt with 3.73's and everything went great. The halfshafts CANT like this, but i had no problems. Good luck!
stupid question, but is a second gear done the same way as a first gear burnout?
or is it easier?
(cause i just heated them up in first till i got some smoke the only time i went with them)

I dont think thats a stupid question. I wondered the same thing. This is for slicks or D/r's only(not street tires). Go though the water and stop with the tires in the water. Do a quick spin to get the whole thing wet. Scoot all the way out of the water. Put it in second gear and just do the same burnout. You may have to drop the clutch higher than normal to get them spinning. I would do at least 10-15 sec to get them supersticky. You should be able to cut a 1.7 at least.

You dont think that number is a bit too generous? i mean, i pulled JUST over a 2.0 as it was, i dont know though... that sure as hell would rip my 14.0 a new one,

i cut .2 of 60 and got almost .5 off ET

another .3 off 60 'could' be theoretically another .5 to .6 off et

mmmmm,, 13.5's... [&:]

You should hit a 1.6, 1.7, with those tires and gears, put about 14 pds in the tires and heat them up real good and there u go

With a basically stock 96 GT? Are you high? Mid 2.2's are about the best he can hope for at the moment.

Not to be an *** in any way, but 72MachOne99GT ur sig says 13.0@102? I know what you meant to put, by some ******** here would call u a liar and start a bunch of BS. I dont think 1.7 is being too generous. If i can cut a 1.87 on street tires, you can cut a 1.7 on slicks. you have to remember when you are running slicks, when u are smoking them, you arent hurting them like street tires. That is what they are made for. They have to be hot/sticky for you to get the full advantage. Go ahead and do a full out 2nd gear smoke fest. THEN you will know they are ready. Launch as high as you are comfortable with. If this is ur daily driver, then you prob dont want to have it bouncing off the rev limiter when u drop it, but if u really want to run that 13.5 thats gonna be your ticket. Your half shafts WILL NOT like a 1.7 short time, but if they hold up, I know YOU WILL. Good luck

i never ran that 13.0,, i just think it looks good below my sig[:@]

but as for sidewayz calling bs on taht,, when he quoted whatever that was he quoted, and someone said that 1.8 was possible or whatever, he thought they were talking about the original post in the stock 96,, and he's right, there is no way they would pull anything below 2.0 on stock tires,,

but yea, i would love to cut something off my 2.05 60',, like i said, i ran a 14.5 with a 2.2, cut .2 off that and .45 off my ET

so another .2 would be at least another .4 ET
