My MT drag radials, 275/40/17 should be in tomorrow and Im going to the track Sunday. My best 60ft with the Nitto's was a 2.02 with some spin launching at 2700RPM. Anyone think I can pull a 1.8ish? Oh and everyone keeps telling me I cant run 275 on my 8 inch rims? But ive been doing it. [&:]

1.8 should be no problem. Just heat um up real nice and drop if from about 4-5k. Hell, if u arent scared, drop it from the limiter. All u will break is some rear end stuff that needs to be replaced anyway. LOL. Have fun with it man!

Why do u have the limiter so high? Do you have Cams? 5k sounds like a good place to start off with. GOOD LUCK

I always find it funny when I read comments like these. Just because it will go to 6400 rpms doens't mean you will be faster. Your car might run faster shifting at 5800. What heads do you have? have they been ported? what cam? If its a stock cam and heads you're wasting time shifting at 6400. Where is your peak HP rpm?

my car is still pulling at 7,000 rpms but I run slower then if I shift at 5900.

You need to have a dyno chart and set your limiter just past where you peak out otherwise you're just wasting your motor.

As for the tire size vs rim size

or if you dont have a dyno chart available, just try playing with your shift time a bit, see where your best times come.
