I'm just sayin that I feel like they lack power. I've driven so many 350z's since they came out. Now I never owned one, but I work for a Nissan dealership as a lot attendant and have to gas each one up and have been on dealer trades with them. So, I've had plenty of chances to beat on them. They bore me in the power area.

Someone else said Mustangs only get 5 horsepower from an intake or an exhaust.. I'm saying if a 350z is lucky it'll get 5 horsepower from BOTH intake and exhaust combined. They don't get the extra increases from tunes either like the Mustangs do. I know you can get 10+ from an intake with a tune on a 99+ Mustang. The 350z just doesn't seem like a promising car to me unless you go NA buildup of internals (still little room for improvement, the cars just strung out more than the 4.6 as is), juice, or forced induction.

Still great cars if they are what you are looking for.. Just not the car for me, and most likely not the car for the majority on this site who are into american muscle of some sort.

Hate to be arrogant here: however I don't think you guys can judge a car without having one to compare. Just because some kid driving a Z didn't hang didn't beat. yada yada doesn't mean that the cars isn't capable. I own a 2005 350Z 35th anniversary. 6-speed and 300 hp. I can guarantee you when it was stock that it would take an old GT. I hate to be cocky but theres nothing special about a moderately modified GT.................Nothing!!!! Sorry to be so bland, but you should try racing something in your class. My Z now has a Twin Greddy Turbo kit and a couple of other he haws and Dynoed 476 at the rear wheels last Saturday. I'm not asking for a cookie but a car that can run a 12.5 second Quarter and handle well on a course is something to talk about. Anyone can put a 250 shot of nitrous to a terd and make it fast in a straight line. Performance is based on more than 0-60. I guarantee you a 350z will out perform that old GT by an EXTREME longshot........... Doesn't count if your racing an old lady.. Go drive a 300 hp 6-speed Z and then come back and talk....... 350z continues to be the best bang for the buck. And I might add guys..................2 LESS CYLINDERS = SMALLER ENGINE = BETTER GAS MILEAGE, besides who needs back seats unless your girlfriend is FAT....................

Alright Mr.350Z, you better watch what you say on these boards or you gonna have your *** handed to you and that is on the streets against a Mustang or even and LS1 or LT1. Now none of us mind if you stay, but dont come on and make your first post downgrade the greatest car in the world. And yes the Mustang is the greatest car in the world. If you wanna compare against Mustangs and all, than I havent heard you talk about the boosted Stangs on here that will hand you your ***, and yes theres a couple N/A GT's that will run you and come close to winning if not win. Just a word of advice dont be a jackass and come on a Mustang forum and run your mouth about how fast your car is compared to Mustangs. And by the way, welcome and enjoy your stay, thats if you do.

Well said ^^^
While having a car put down 476 to the wheels is nothing to laugh at the fact remains that you had to go the twin turbo route to get those numbers. Yes, I also know that my lowly little GT won't see numbers like that without some sort of forced induction as well. But there are plenty of Stangs on this board that are putting down numbers even higher than that as well. So don't think that your car is all that.
And I might add guys..................2 LESS CYLINDERS = SMALLER ENGINE = BETTER GAS MILEAGE
350z 26mpg highway 20mpg city
99-04 GT 25mpg highway 17mpg city

Yeah better... but just barely.

besides who needs back seats unless your girlfriend is FAT....................
That is true though.
But anyway, it sounds like you have a really nice car, so how about posting some pics?

And to the thread starter... a win is a win. Next time try not to miss 3rd. LOL! And don't even give the C6 a second thought. One day his stupid driving will catch up to him.

350Z is NOT THE BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK. The '05 GT is faster and cheaper than a 350z. An SRT-4 is just as fast as a 350Z if not a little quicker stock for stock and it only costs 22000 fully loaded.

I hate to sound cocky, but...

I'll race you straight line or in the twisties and I can guarantee you will lose... and I will give you a 20 car handicap.

A smaller engine doenst necessarily mean better gas milage. My car still gets 300-350 miles to the tank on the highway and you didnt dyno anywhere near close to what I did.

Ive never dated a fat girl in my life and I dont have kids, but the back seat does come in handy for carrying stuff like CD cases and so on.

Now... I wanna damn cookie, please!

well first nismoZ, i have a backseat because that is the tradition of the mustang it also lowers insurance cost..being a 22 year old with alot of tickets it works out for me..if you put a back seat in a 350z it would be a turd, 350z is a nice car I like them and looked at getting one..but I passed for the * stang *.. z is overrated and got lead in the exhaust weighing it down.. you should run with something in your class like jdaniel cause he would hand you your a$$ in any senario..so why are you here in a mustang site cause they didnt beleive your sh*t at the ricer site and banned you..not a good first post.. you say you would take out a old gt, it would be a better race with your 6speed 300hp , BUT race in your classsssss like against the 05 gt, and it will hand you your a$$ hope you enjoy the site and welcome

NizmoZ your car sounds nice and yes stock tour car could beat a 99-04 GT but most of the Z's out there are the 287hp ones. Those are a drivers race between a 99-04 GT

Finally some respect from Bypopulardemand.

FIRST and FOREMOST.................................

I have owned 3 MUSTANGS.
87 5.0 GT Stock - 5 SPEED
91 5.0 GT, GT-40 heads,intake,E303 cam, off road H-Pipe dumped into 2 chamber Flows and a good ole 150 shot of Nitrous
96 Cobra, Votec Supercharger, 2- chamber Flows

Don't tell me that I can't have my own opinion. I only replied with that first post because you guys were blasting the 350Z. Maybe you don't like the 350Z maybe you can't afford one, I don't know, don't really care, and to be completely honest, I could give two SHxts about wether or not you can beat me. MY whole point and maybe you should go back and thoroughly read my post is that the 350 isn't that terdish of a car. To top it off for 30 Gs it looks pretty FXcking good too!!! I'm not afraid to give my car hell on the streets, as a matter of fact its pretty damn snotty. Take a ride in a 476HP Z.......................Then run your mouth!!!!
Until then fella's is just high school bullshxt!!!!!!!

By the way JDaniel, I'll take your 20 car handicap because by the looks of your picture it doesn't look like you have any idea how to drive.................. You should probably stick to the straightaways...................
