Civic Si Hatchback??
I'm gonna have to call BS, if you ask this guy to race for pinks I'm sure he won't do it, unless he is hiding NOS under the seat or something. He can't be serious. If he is let me know, I live about 20 minutes from you and I will get out a screw driver and pop the GT symbols off of my Mustang.
a 2000 Civic SI will beat you. I used to have one, and used to dust this one guys lazer red 5 speed V6 stang in the top end. Off the line it was pretty even. Now, the 99-00's werent hatchbacks. The newer bodies are hatchbacks, and are relatively the same in performance as a 99-00, even if honda took all the "rev to 8200" fun out of them.
So, if he really is pulling a fast and furious, dont race him for anything, much less your car.

about the 32psi ... that's what "he said" I cant confirm that at all. He said he did fry a few rings and a piston I think.
Im not sure what year the civic is, but it is a hatchback. I'm going to the track next week, hope they are open, and get my 1/8 timeslip. Will be looking to get a 1/4 slip later, but I dont know the closest track around here, and i'm not going to Gainesville.

or does it look like this:

First image is a 93 Si hatch with a 125 hp d16z6.
Second is an 03 Si hatch with a 160 hp k20a2.

weird ...what you Americans call an SI is an SIR in Canada. the SI over here is an intermediate between the regular DX (or whatever they call em') and the SIR.

Canadian Si = US EX
Canadian SiR = US Si
and no id, you're thinking of the CRX. There was an 88-91 CRX Si, but not a Civic Si. The Si didn't come into play with Civics until the 92 model year.
They really don't look all that similar... but for ****'s sake, here's an 88 CRX Si.

Oddly enough, that particular car has a Jackson racing supercharger on it...
