Civic Si Hatchback??
How fast are the civic Si Hatchbacks? probably late 90's early 2000's models. I have this guy across the street that says his Si cant beat the crap out of my Mustang. I have a 2004 V6 with CAI & true dual exh. Do you guys think I have a chance?? He wants to race pink slips, but i dont want the car if i win so... I plan on going to the track next weekend or the one after to get a 1/8 timeslip. Will work on a 1/4 slip for you guys later. Thanks for any help guys..
depends
Those civics can be made pretty quick if he put the right combo of parts together. But if it's stock, you'll probably beat him easily, especially if you get the launch on him. Don't go from a roll though, those cars work best in high RPM conditions.

His civic is completely stock. I dont know how the weight difference goes on the cars, though. I definitely wont give him a rolling start. First gear is a little powerless for me, but as soon as second comes its a different car man. The thing is is that he is one of those "anything I have is better than yours" type of guys and I really wont to shut him up. But Im not racing for pinks even if there was no way to lose.

haha it's completely stock? and he wants to run for pink slips? LMAO... take his car.
An early 90s (92-95) Si has a sohc vtec D16z6 with 125 hp. The next Si was a coupe like mine for 99-00 with 160 hp. The next Si is a bigger uglier EP hatch (02-05) with 160 hp.
The 06 coupes will have 197 hp and a 6 speed. *drools*

I'm outside of Orlando. This guy thinks his car is the ****. He was wanting to race this kid with an Acuta Integra with 32psi of boost. His entire engine was rebuilt with forged components and this guy still said he could win with his Honda Civic. I think I'm just going to throw $200 on the line and race him at a 1/8m track in 2 weeks. I dont want to try pink slips b/c you never know what could happen.
