my first death
I lost... for the first time... to an M3. we went from a 40 roll but we werent using horns so he actually dropped gears 1/2 sec before me because he was initiating the race. I dropped to 2cd immidiatly after he did but he still pulled away hard through second to 4 car legnths and just when he stopped pulling in third and I felt like i might reel him in, he let up. This exact process happened twice. i pulled up next to him at a light and asked him if he had anything done, he said nope. so i congratulated him and told me I had a nice car. turns out he used to work for ford in the internet advertising dept.
id actually like to add that I was eager to race an m3 because my buddy has a 97 cobra with 315 rwhp (18 more than me) and he said that he raced m3s all the time and never lost. does 18 rwhp make that huge of a difference ? if so, im buying a pully and getting a tune ASAP.

don't sweat it. the whole trick to it was him getting that jump in a hard accellerating gear like 2nd. if you do the math you'll see the same thing happen between any 2 cars with the same PWR, gearing etc. either that or he was bs-ing about mods.

yeah i was thinking the same thing?? im pretty sure it is (from other posts) and he said he'd change a pulley. how the hell are you only making that power with a sc 05. i see people makeing over 300whp with bolt ons and a tune. something has to be wrong. hopefully he gets spanked by a na one soon. 18whp won't make too big of a difference, but enough.

Turbostang, its an 02, not an 05 -my car is rated 365 at the flywheel and I had it dynoed at 296.5 RWHP. Im doing a pully+tune very soon. do any of you know if buying a new driveshaft woulf reduce some friction in the drivetrain and free up some HP?
