Its an Audi, and if its the latest model, 4.2 liters with 340 HP, 6-speed, and four wheel drive. They weigh alot though.
They are a popular car here in NY state with all the snow. They do the 1/4 stock in the high 13s.

Okay, call me ignorant, but what is an S4 exactly?

i thought the newer 4.2's were N/A?
my gf said she got to drive his 06 as the designated driver one night
said it has little to no wheelspin because of the awd, adn that it gets up to 70 pretty quick
and that once your going 70, it feels like 30 or so because of the smoothness of the ride

S4s are 4-doors, so what the hell is that?

Audi S4. Twin turbo'd, different horsepower numbers depending on the year. Very fast and very capable AWD car, unbelievably comfortable inside.
I test drove a 2002 S4. My WRX was stage 2 at the time and felt faster, but the tiptronic gearbox on the S4 was like butter. It definitely hauled *** too, and those things are undertuned from the factory. My insurance company wanted twice what I was paying yearly to insure the WRX though, so I quickly passed on it.

Okay, call me ignorant, but what is an S4 exactly? It's AWD with a turboed 6-cylinder, but that doesn't narrow it down too much...And were the roads icy?

I had a 2004 Audi S4 that I traded about 3 months ago on my Porsche. It was a great car. Previous years had been a 2.7 liter twin turbo V6, but the 2004 was a 4.2 liter, 340 Hp, M-6, 4-wheel drive V8 sedan. About $54K list.
It was a great car, with incredible low end torque, and good power, and awesome traction, very good in snow, very fast on dry roads, lots and lots of options and features.
It weighed about 3800 lbs so it was not that fast (13.75 quarter was the best ever). I liked everything about it EXCEPT that it was very hard to see to the side rear (next lane when changing, to both sides) because of mirror, pillar, and headrest placement. I had the headrests cut down to half-height but that only helped a little bit. I finally got so tired to the blind spots to the side-rear that I just got rid of the car. The Porsche is not only faster but has no blind spots: whoever laid it out was clearly thinking of the driver, and a genius.
I had owned outher Audis and I learned one golden rule of Audis: never own own out of warranty. Repairs and parts are expensive.

mid-13s. and they only run like 8 PSI. think of a good exhaust and 14 PSI. easy 12s

No, the standard most recent model S4 is high 13s car- mine never got better than 13.8 @100. Some of the upgraded models -- you might be thinking of the 414 HP RS4, which I think is the red picture up above (the two douur version), are faster and the RS6 4.2 twin turbo is mid 12s (but stickered at close to 90). But the current model, 4.2 liter, 340 HP S4 has no turbo and is only a 13.8 car. Mine WAS faster than the earlier (and lighter) 2.7 twin turbo S4, I know 'cause a ran a friend several times at the track - he did a best of around 14.3@97. My S4 would never beat my neighbors stock 98 Cobra convertible either- almost, always got of the line fast with that 4-wheel drive, but never all the way to the 1/4 market.
I'm calling BS.
mcget29, dude your S4 has a v-8, not bi-turbo V6. You don't even know the engine in your car?
Further, everyone knows the insane top-end the Camaro's and Trans Am's had. They all trap higher then then the S4 and keep pulling after the quartermile.
Tell us another "story" bud.

but you could just install a tighter wastegate spring and "chip" them to gain 30 HP (alot of dealers did that for people) and you could buy any of several turbo upgrade kits that took only a hard afternoons work to upgrade tubo size: you could get 350 HP (flywheel) pretty easily out of a car that weighed about 3500 lbs and hard 4-wheel drive. The thing would have no real low end torque but it would would go once the revs were up. Some would do mid or even low 13s and I heard people claim 12s but never actually saw that.
