Mustang VS Camaro SS
Those V6 Camaro's (5 speeds) are known to touch 14.9's bone stock.</P>
I saw a regular at my track take his 2 week old 2003 V6 Mustang 5 speed with 3,000 miles on it & 100% stock run a 14.7 & I was pretty amazed. But, the guy won his division with his stock 03 Cobra on BFG radials running 12.5 - I'd say he is a rather good driver, I don't think many people could duplicate his V6 running 14.7, so don't everyone get all hissy about it. </P>

a guy i used to work with took his 99 V6 5spd to the track and ran a high 17, cant drive for s**t. but in a street race, he barelylost to my turbo civic boy co worker who at the times was running a 60 shot, (he later switched to boost) and had a best time of 15.7 on the bottle. he had to spray to keep that V6 from kicking his ***. i've raced newer V6's in my 98, and it takes me a few seconds to pulla few car lengths on them. stock for stock,my 98 GT is not much faster than a 99 + V6 5spd. <edited><editID>BCisme</editID><editDate>38032.2214583333</editDate></edited>

So Comparing an SS to a GT is like comparing a Cobra to a Z28...likewise IMO</p>
You talk like a SS is boosted or something, a Z28 with CAI and a decent catback is pretty much the same thing as an SS. And no, the v6 Stang isn't faster than the v6 Camaro.

V6 stangs are pretty quick. I lost pretty badly to a newer V6 with exhaust and rims about 5 months ago in my Escort...I gunned it like I normally do...not really racing, he paced me, and then gunned it. it was fun and if I did race him, I wouldn't have expected to win, even though I did beat up on an SN95 model V6.

Oh yeah, onlast night I had the Escort before I picked up the Civic in september, I was coming home from work and this V6 Camaro and V6 Mustang were playing. at the last light going east through town they both gunned it, and I played with them.</P>
The V6 maro walked us both and I pulled right along with the Mustang, I bet he was surprised.</P><edited><editID>pSicho</editID><editDate>38032.6736805556</editDate></edited>

RE: Mustang VS Camaro SS
why does he need to be bad driver to lose? those mods would barely put him in the ballpark of the Z/28. Sorry but 02 and older cobras are not that fast. But they are fun to drive.

I am still wondering whats up with the 10's on factory tires. Okay so how does that happen, becuz I didnt just fall off the turnip truck today. I did a few weeks ago, right after I lived my life a 1/4 mile at a time.
Tell ya what, post up a video of one of thse cars running the stock rubber, wihtout turning off the camera have it run a 10 second time at a track. Untill then well unless you are in Fast and Fictitious land where a full interior honda with 22 inch wheels can run 9's NA, I will believe physics and traction limitations, oh and Power to weight..
btw I do know of car dipping into the 11's on old bias plys, but not a low profile Goodyear.
