The 2.4L is BUILT for boost, its not just a turbo slapped onto a Neon engine. It has low compression pistons, cams specifically made for the application, a computer calibration made for boost, ect. Yeah, take the turbo away and it does nothing because its built for the turbo.
Hey, your car is meant to drive on tires, take away the tires and see how fast it is!
Turbo'd four bangers usually have a unique sound, my turbo 2.3L sounds like nothing other than a turbo 2.3L. No one can figure out what i have based on the sound alone. Hopefully i can put proper exhaust on it and people will stop giving me dirty looks.

ehh ill give srt-4 credit they can be a PITA from a roll but I dont see them as worth the money if your serious, if your just tryna have fun dirivng around they're good cars, better in the snow than RWD cars, but for drag, they're still FWD, in my opinion thats the SRT-4's biggest downfall, switch it to RWD and I would get one

IF they have such a terrible trait such as FWD, but they are STILL capable of a 13.9 STOCK,, then apparently someone on the design team did something right
i hate them to be honest with you, just little ricer cars waiting to happen, annoying, cheap BUT quick for their application
think of it from a 4 cylinder lovers point of view,, this car is probably the closest thing to an orgasm on wheels as i can think of [:'(]

I love the car, just the car, its a great design, it achieved every goal chrysler wanted, and its some amazing bang for the buck
what sucks about it is the followers. You have die hard fans, and ricers, and sadly, ricers seem to have more of their parents money, so they buy the cars and do stupid crap to them and give them a bad name

So we went around in both of the kids neons, couldn't really find anybody to race, but we did a couple sweet ricer flyby's on lets see... a mid 1980's oldsmobile and a riced out civic. Those things once they hit boost are beasts, snaps your head back hard when you floor it.
And yes, for a four cylinder, it is basically 9/10 of an orgasm on wheels. Cheap, and yes, quick.

SRT 4s are good little cars that are cheep, and preform well. Its that kids that drive them that **** me off. Ex: one night i was in downtown indy on my way around the circle, and one of them pulled up next to me. Traffic was movin slow so there was a kid hanging out the pass window talking all kinds of trash. He first said wanna get beat, then he started saying **** about how i had a flat tire (which got my gf to worry) i knew that this kid was just a ***. I respect the SRT 4 until some punk gets a hold of it and starts talking trash.
