Wow, I dont know how you managed to lose to a WRX in your GT - it gives silver mustangs a bad rep. You should sell your car to someone who knows how to drive that beast. I've seen three to date and all from the line. You know how many times I lost? NONE! AWD is crucial , but so are the #'s 227 v. 260.....
(and dont say mods, because you should have just as many)
3013 lbs vs 3200 lbs also.

How many times have you lost? NONE? (that you care to admit to)

Im gonna have to agree with you james. I(ignorantly) used to look at the WRX and say only 227hp? Well, honestly its gonna beat you in the 1/8 if he can launch good. You will run him down b/c of the extra power, but remember he is lighter than you. Dont get too cocky just cuz ur V8 makes 25 more hp than another car. HP is not the only thing that needs to be taken into consideration.

ehh supposedly WRXs are pretty fast even on the highway. I know someone with a WRX who has a bigger turbo, etc, he can beat an STi, he ran a transam on the highway and beat it, he raced an 02 mustang gt with chip, gears and exhaust from a 40 roll the stang let off at 80 and he was 2 cars ahead. Apparently these little buggers can be fast. WRX and STI's are cars I hate to love, but I am a little jealous.

You need to see a GT35R'd STI from a roll. Nobody who appreciates torque can hate on it =p

Maybe with mods he can keep up with you, but a stock WRX or even A stock STI is not fast on the highway. After the 1/8 mile they are threw. The AWD really slows them down. I'm willing to bet you could beat a stock STI on the highway, believe me they are threw after the 1/8 mile. Even in the 1/4 mile the stock STI's I see run turn from 13.7-14.0 at around 100-101 mph. The STi's that you see running low 13's leave the line with their foot on the floor. They are all about the take off. Now once they start modding it is a different story. But stock no problem.
