I was tooling along on the highway the other day... It's near Newark NJ, where most ppl on the road are driving beaters (immigrants whose last vehicle was a camel, mostly). Anyway, I have my technique down pat, and am bobbing and weaving through all these morons who have no clue about passing lane/right lane, etc... Anyway, I get onto this exit ramp to change to a different highway, and I notice this car flying up behind me. It's dark out, so I'm just looking at hist headlights, and to me they looked like cop headlights. So, I eased off and let him catch up to me. Now this guy gets right up behind me and starts tailgating me on this 2-lane exit ramp and we're the only cars on it. He's pissing me off getting on my *** like that when I'm in the right lane and he can easily pass me if he wants. I figured he was trying to egg me into flooring it, but again... I'm thinking those look like cop headlights, so I hold myself back. We get on the highway, and next thing I know he's passing me and shines his f***ing spotlight in my driver's-side window... I'm looking right back at him looking pissed and mouthing "f*** you"... So, yeah.. it was a cop, and he was trying to get me to speed. I didn't get the feeling that his intention was to have a fun race with me.. rather to get me to open it up so he could write me a big ticket. A**hole.

 

I haven't raced a cop, but I've passed them on the freeway plenty, and I regularly smoke them through intersections. Today I was going through an intersection and the light turned yellow so I jabbed the throttle and my turbo started whistling right as I blew past a uniform standing right on the edge of the intersection. It got his attention even though I wasn't breaking the law - he was just standing on the curb looking the wrong way.

Yesterday I blew out of an alley sideways across 2 lanes (totally controlled, checked for peds and traffic first) and some guy yelled at me, called me a flucker. oh well.

 

id be to afraid to race a cop lol for the fact if they are sore losers and pull you over and write ya a ticket for beating them at their own game lol... ohh and by the way are their newer police cars fast? i think they are those impalas

 

The state guys around here are LS1 equipped.....so YES they're fast.
