meh, i wou;dn't say that. didn't you run and your wife run like a 13.3 with a stocj auto LS1? an n/a cobra won't run that stock. well, probably could, but you'd have a better shot running that with the LS1.
^^+1, N/A Cobras from 99-01 run mid 13's at best.

Last time I seen a similar race here it was a '99 Cobra vs a '98 TA. The TA was all stock, down to the 2.73 gears. The only mods he had was a lid/muffler, not a catback, just a muffler. The Cobra had full exhaust/gears/DR's. It was a really good race out of the hole, took the LS1 a little while to reel him in. From a low roll however, it was a 4-5 car length difference...everytime they did it.

Yeah, she ran 13.36 @ 105 bone stock but mine only went 13.52 @ 104 when stock (105 on a coupla other runs), I dunno why hers would be faster unless it's because hers was a hardtop and maybe weighed a bit less? She also got a sliightly better 60 ft. It's only a .16 difference. Anyway, I think a well-driven manual N/A Cobra would give me a good run, it may be too close to call without actually doing it. It certainly would not be a cakewalk for me, that's for sure.

Oh, and we're not married, just been together a while.

I don't think thats the case. I think they're high 13 second cars. I've never really seen one do much better stock. I lined my stock 99 GT Convertible up with one, and ran a 14.0 to his 13.9, but I tree'd him so bad that I won by like 3 cars.

Its really amazing how easy a mustang vs. fbody race incident thread can turn into yet another cobra vs ls1 thread. lol[sm=icon_sneaky.gif]
Good run dude, btw. My gf had a similar run against a 00-02 SS in her 98 convertible GT (manual). She has CAI, Flowmasters, and tune and was able to stick side by side with him from a 45 mph rolling start. Then her radar detector went off and she went into braking. The state trooper got the SS around the bend. I know the SS would have walked all over her if they'd had a chance to get past 90...but still, pretty good for a convertible to hang with an ls1 for so long. Then again, the guy in the SS may have just been hangin on the side of her to check her out. lol[sm=lildevil.gif]

A properly driven LS1 would unmercifully *** rape a NPI GT VERT at any speed. When we are talking Gt's we are talking PI's for sure. I know for fact ur g/f's 200rwhp car couldnt imagine sticking with an LS1 for even a split second.

Eh, if it was just for a short time and the LS1 was in a weak spot in the powerband for that particular punch-off speed then I can see the '98 Stang hanging for a bit. ThisBlood did concede that the LS1 would have eventually pulled ahead by a good margin.

Actually, I also conceded that the guy in the LS1 may have just been hangin neck 'n neck with her to check her out[sm=icon_sneaky.gif] So who knows.....I wasn't there. She does have her car dialed in pretty well, not to mention that when she used to hang with her street racing crowd a couple of her counterparts did some mad-scientist crap to her car that they never would explain to her afterwards. In her words....."The car just got damn fast after". lol. I named the mods on her car that I've been able to find......but knows what else may have been done to the engine. But I would agree that from a dig or race past 80mph, an LS1 would still own it. Still, nice car though...
