finally....
WOW i really throwed a turd on the table with this post.Cliff looking at your first post (where you are calling me a liar) i am not sure if you read my post correctly. We didnt race from a dig,we didnt race to 171+ mph i simply put my car in 3rd gear which at 70mph is already torqued pretty tight then i held it to the foor till it redlined...that was pretty much it..... not even a race just something interesting i thought i would share.Yes i have rode in his charger and he dogged the hell outta it and i was not impressed and neither was he.He was most dissapointed with the fact that with his traction control off he couldnt even chirp a tire, he was expecting to get sideways just like the advertisement notttttttt. Now on the lighter side.... if i had known that this would be a (run them until he pulled ahead of me) race i would have had to have a heart to heart talk with my lil inferior mustang because everybody knows when that dodge/chrysler product gets out in front PARTS could start falling off.

Same here. Unlike you guys, I have DRIVEN one, and I must say, either his is a lemon, he wasn't trying, or you are blowing smoke out your ***. The Magnum and Charger SRT-8s are low 13, high 12 second cars. The 300C SRT-8 has a slightly different tranny(extra gear, different gear ratios) allowing them to exceed speeds of 170MPH. If it was from a dig, huh....... you would have gotten a good view of his *** end. Althought the 300C SRT8 is faster in the top end, they still run identical quarter mile times. I call hooey.
SRT8> just about anything with four doors, and just about everything else with two.
Bullitthead, I don't know where you're getting you're info. Don't magazine race. Motor Trend ios notorious for having slow quarter mile times.
And WTF is with all of this FALSE info? Check it foos: The SRT8 300C and Charger weigh in at, yes, 5300 pounds, give or take a few hun depending on options. Not 4100. Nothing less than 5K on the scales. The powerband in the auto trannies runs well into the high 6,000 rpms range, and I can guarantee it has more than 3.10s in it. You;re telling ME that a 5300 four door sedan runs low 13s-high 12s with 3.10s? RIGHT, I believe you. These cars are C5 killers, no joke, which is why I call hooey.

Yeah I call bs. I raced one in a saleen s/c and his weight was the only thing making not closer. Those things are fast low 13's im mid to high12's yeah i doubt it was even

I got my facts from the best source on here... www.dodge.com and www.edmunds.com - they give the 3.06 gearing w/4100 wgt. - I had a select-shift transmission on my G6 and my buddies RX-8.. while not the same animal by any means, it still will take 1-2 seconds for it to shift, where as in my manual its bang-bang... and yes i had the opportunity to drive a Magnum Srt-8 (which is 100 lbs heavier then the Charger) - they don't "rip" like anything like a z06 or a C6 - sorry I sold cars for Chevy and Ford.. I've had the opportunity to drive those Vettes.. The facts that THISBLOOD posted are correct... Now, i've seen stock Srt-8's break into the 12's... but it's not the norm... Just like the LS1's can run 12's stock, but they don't 24/7... they are mid to low 13 second cars in thier own respect.. I've seen time slips where a srt8 will a 12.99 or so... but the norm for those cars is a low 13... so Cliff im not disputing the fact that your dads srt8 is fast... or, that the next guys srt8s will run a 12.9, but those are outliers in the srt8 community, well stock atleast.. haha... If you think that the srt8 is going to beat any C5 or C6 corvette - you're just simply on drugs... SRT-8's will have enough time beating a Z28 or a WS6. and even if it's an automatic it's still a select-shift transmission, which does have to go through a computer in order to shift... There is a delay there... which doesn't sound like much but any racers know that it's enough of a delay...
So again, while the srt8 in a full race will beat a stock GT in this case it wasn't a full race and it didn't... in a street race.. whoever is winning when they shut down is the winner, period.

I agree with Cliff... those cars have 425hp and 420lbs of torque in a absoutly HUGE motor... 6.1L Hemi to be exact... I can chirp my tires in 3rd in my stang... with 2/3 the power of that car... I don't think your boss knows yet how to drive it...

OK, I'm back. One problem though.... the pick of the model iden sticker didn't come out, the text was too small. BUT, I wrote down the GRVW. 2405KG; 5300 lbs. for the whole thing. I'm going to try and get better pics of the sticker with my camera tomorrow, but here is the photo gallery of the car. The model sticker is the first pic, the second is the 300C in the garage next to my Mustang(the one in my sig of course), just so somebody doesn't go,"um, you've never seen one you little ****". I swear I got that at school once. So, here's the gallery:
2006 Chrysler 300C SRT8
Also, online conversion of KG to lbs.; just for more reference. The results: 2405 KG = 5 302.117405546 lbs.

That the gross weight rating NOT THE WEIGHT OF THE CAR, it refers to the amount of weight (including the weight of the car itself) that the car can carry. In other words the total weight of the car + people + luggage. Maybe before you start telling other people they don't know what they are talking about you should be 100% certain that you know your stuff.

As for the vette thing, I said except the C6 and post '90s Z06. Theres no way two cars with similar power, but one being aerpdynamic, lighter, and has a five speed; is going to be out run by a 2 ton four door with a five speed auto. And I never said it could take a C6.
