Hey guys, a Stock Srt8 charger with 425 hp only runs low 13's... that saying that's under good racing conditions... the monster weights 4100lbs!!! That makes a huge differance... I can believe that the Charger would be even with a stock 05/06 GT with a less then pro driver... They are $40,000.00 beasts, but they are fat cars... which is comparable to the Magnum Srt8 - the magnum is within 100lbs of the Charger...

Ok, screw it. I'm not one to choose sides.........but facts are facts, and they sometimes help shed light on a situation. Here's what the SRT-8s have:
Tip-auto gear selector
This automatic transmission gives shift control to the driver, not the transmission. It operates like a conventional automatic if the driver wishes, but includes a program that lets the driver shift manually without a clutch.
That addresses the SRT's tranny.
They have 3.06 gears, make 425hp @ 6000rpm/ 420lbs-ft torque @ 4800 rpms, have 10.30 to 1 compression, and weigh in at 4160 lbs.
I don't doubt this beast pulls like a *****.........but we are talkin about an extra 600 lbs of girth that the SRT has to haul over the GT. I know a stock SRT will beat a stock 05/06 GT plainly......but its not out of the question for a GT to hang with one in the 60 -85 mph range fairly well, could be a weak point in the Charger's powerband. I'm not saying that for sure, but it is possible. I know a stock GT can beat a stock Charger RT, cuz I've done it several times......but I probably wouldn't try running an SRT8 till I have some mods.

cableguymicah, I don't know where you're getting your data but Motor Trend has gotten identical times in the 1/4 for these cars: 13.5. While the SRT-8 has a slightly higher trap speed, clearly these cars are roughly equivelant in acceleration, thus backing his story 100%.
