Shock Tower Brace
This weekend I just installed a set of full length sub frame connectors on a buddies car.....while he was here he was asking about a shock tower brace. I've seen them on alot of other cars...imports mostly.... but has anyone seen one used on a mustang? It doesn't seem like it would help on a solid axle car....
Any thoughts????
..remember...shock towers...rear...not the strut towers
thats already an obvious upgrade lol

I see them as no benifit and for the reasons you stated. There is really no load on them, so save your hatch/trunk space and stick to mods that offer gains. Now the STB is of some benefit on the Fox Body, of very little benefit on the SN95 in very hard conditions and none at all on the S197.

The usual two-point shock tower brace isn't good for much more than something to hook bungie cords to, to keep stuff from sliding around in the trunk. Even less, if it includes rod ends at the connections.
At a much more serious level, as in the 2012 Boss 302 Mustangs, a structure that attaches to at least four points and includes corner to corner X-bracing can be worth something.
I'm not convinced that even strut tower bracing up front is worth it for strictly performance reasons in most cases unless you're looking at least at a three point design (and have the necessary structure at any additional points for the extra bracing to actually do anything useful). They can reduce NVH though.
