Default Quad Shocks?

Having just purchased a 2002 GT vert, I am looking to replace the shocks and struts. I noticed that there are quad shocks on this model. All the shock and strut packages I see do not include the quad shocks. Why? Is it because with a beefier shock it negates the need for the quad shock? Help me here. I just want to keep the suspension system as basic as possible.

Read the "Official Suspension Guide" thread at the top of the page in this section. It will help you understand the rear suspension and why those quad shocks are there.

My advice is not to replace them. Install a decent set of lower control arms, and before you lower the car back down you can remove the quad shocks and be done with it.
