Default Newbie and a ?

What's up? Im a newbie so I just wanted to say hi, and i got a quick quesiton for you guys. I recently bought a 03 cobra and Im ready to start the mods. The car has an o/r h pipe and some flows. I plan on getting the 2.8 pulley, cold air intake, 90mm throttle body, port the stock eaton s/c, and a programer. What do you guys think that I can expect for rwhp? Will these mods make a big diffrence? Do you guys think that I sould do something diffrent? Thanks for your time guys.

Welcome to SVT majic. Everything that you plan on sounds good to me, but take that with a grain of salt, as I am a 97 cobra owner[>:] (actually, I love the car so much that I bought a second one). I would however, warn you about cold air intakes. Just tell me that you are not going to do one of those exposed filter jobbers...I didn't hear anything about rear end gears. If you want to get to your horses quicker, that is the best way to do it.

If you are planning on that level of mods you really need to find someone to put your car on a dyno. Those Cobra's can take a lot of abuse, but when you go swapping out parts without a proper tune your Air/Fuel ratios may be bad and although the car may drive fine, you can cause some damage if you drive it with bad A/F for too long.

As for your choice of mods, you will be putting down all the power you will need if you do everything on your list. You won't care about the HP number, the impression of your body in the seat will be all you need to know..

your going to have all power no traction unless you add drag radials to that list or some suspension mods.

To ANSWER your question you should be in the ~490hp range give or take.

With the ported Eaton, you have a chance of 500 RWHP!
If it is stock other than the exhaust, you have a whole new wake up with the pulley change.
Please, what ever you do, get a dyno tune as part of the mods, it is not tolerable of running lean, not even 1 time.

The handheld tuners are absolutely 100% not safe, you need a dyno tune.

i would definatly start off with suspension. with all the power you might get it doesnt mean a damn thing if you cant plant it to the floor. get a bf irs brace, solid diff bushings, subframe bushings, a hoosier or mt drag radial. i prefer the hoosier. you'll also need subframe connectors, and to stiffen the car a little even some h and r springs. then you can do all the mods you want
