Shelby 500 vs Cobra R
Just looking for some feed back...
In the long run which do you think will be a better investment, a Cobra R or the new Shelby 500.
According to:
http://www.rsportscars.com/eng/cars/mustang_cobra.asp
There were only 300 Cobra R's produced in 2000.
There were only 250 Cobra R's produced in 1995.
There were only 107 Cobra R's produced in 1993.
I heard lots of rumors about the new Shelby production #'s, any where from 5,000 to 10,000.

RE: Shelby 500 vs Cobra R
a 95 cobra R was going for well in the 30's with 500 miles on it.. and it was bought for in the high 20's. I would say the R's.. they are so limited in numbers.. but their prices have already gone up... dont know how much more it will rise.

I don't know. I have heard that this will be Shelby's last Cobra and they are only producing a limited number of those as well. There will be a lot of people who drive them and show them off, putting miles on them, wrecking them, etc...if you bought one and took care of it, I think it will be worth a lot of money 20 years down the road.

If you could buy a 2000 Cobra R, then get it and screw the GT500. They made 307 '00 Cobra R's; and its one of the fastest factory track cars out there(in its class, not talkin' uber-cars!). BUT, the new GT500 will be very nice. So, it's up to you. Any of the four would be a good investment.

I'm not so sure that I can agree with you guys, I mean we're talking about the GT500 here, the car that started it all. Are you looking for a car that will sit in your garage or one that will be able to be possibly daily driven? Remember, the Cobra R's came with no backseat, no radio or cd player, and a gutted interior. If you want a race car, get the Cobra R.
