Default Cobra Questions

Hey guys. I have a 02v6er. im currently planning a complete engine, ecu, tranny, and rear end swap. im interrested in turning it into a cobra. just wondering if anyone here could tell me about the new cobra motors from 99-04. i know the 03/04's were supercharged and someone is telling me that the 00 had a better engine just less power. so Id like to get ideas from people on which motor i should put in. Also would like if anyone could give me some websites about cobras and where i can buy a cobra engine with the wiring harness and ecu. this would be helpful. thanks guys

03/04 is the best but expect to pay around 10-12k for the whole motor. Stock that motor produces around 425hp at flywheel.

What are you wanting to build? Are you going to buy a used motor and bulid it up or an already built motor and drop it in? What HP range are you looking to make that thing? The best block is the 96-98 teksid block.. it can handle the most HP. THe heads on the 96-98 didnt flow as well as the 99+ if you are looking for an already built motor.

Best out of the box setup is the 03/04 with out a doubt. Comes with forged internals and a blower. This is the only cobra motor that came with forged internals, so if you looking to make some major HP... you have to add in the price of forged pistons and rods to the cost of the 01, 99, and 96-98 blocks.

Also there was no cobra in 00, just the cobra R which was a different beast all together. The 99's were the ones with power issues.

Your going to spend alot more money and alot more work with your current plans IMO.

Sell the V6, buy a Cobra and get a super charger.. You will have all the power you want, less of a headache and less money being spent..

PMPFactoryDesigns sells a complete 03/04 cobra motor $4700.00 Remand to ford spec with factory forged part and a 3 year warranty
It includes complete bottom end with water pump, oil pump 03/04 4V cobra heads full of oil and ready to drop in.
Also as far as the wiring you may want to consider a complete 96 GT harness this will cost you much less than a cobra harness, then just burn the chip and power the harness.
hope this helps
