Want to buy a Cobra.. Advice?
Hello,
I am a long time Mustang fanatic, used to have two 69's but that is another story about the dumbest thing I ever did. Anyway, I am looking at a yellow 98 Cobra here in Denver. It has 40K miles, is very clean and the only mods so far are 3.73 gears and cat-back exhaust system that goes to straight pipes. My only reservation is that going into 2nd gear on a fast shift is a little tight and grinds if you are not careful. Are these trannys just tight or does it sound like maybe tranny might have issues? I plan on taking it to a tranny shop before I buy but wanted to check with those in the know first. Also, I got him to sell for $13.4k, sound like a good deal?

Honestly jasper, you can get cheaper than that. the resale value on cobras is horrible because there are so many of them. if you looked around, i could guarantee you could find a cobra more toward 10,000. but if you like it, get it. and as far as the grinding thing, a t45 should not grind when going into gear like that.
