BBK 65mm throttle body help
I bought the bbk 65mm throttle body a couple months back for my 99 cobra. I heard some bad things about bbk, but at the thime it was the only thing out there and my stock one was hanging up. Well now the bbk hangs bad. I called them and they said the only thing that they could tell me was to run double springs on it. Now I have a real stiff gas pedal and it still hangs. So if anybody could tell me what to do with it i would help me out a bunch. Thanks
I have a '01 cobra with a 62mm bbk throttle body. my gas pedal was pretty stiff when i first put it on but it has loosened up over a couple months. If by hanging up you mean your car is idling high and taking a while for the revs to drop, mine had the same problem and i fixed it by buying a new idle control. its the plug in on the left side of the throttle body. i found out if you try and rotate it your self of mess with it at all the spring inside goes bad. i picked one up at NAPA for $50.
Yea I replaced the iac and worked it over pretty good. There is a post on corral.net that I started same as this one and asked for help. A guy put a link in there to give me some help and I did a lot of work to it and it just got worse. So I bought an accufab. I know that one will work lol. Thanks anyways
I had a BBK twin 65 for my 03 snake and it SUCKED!! The throttle would hang and it wouldn't come down for a second or two. I am not sure about the ones made for the 99/01 cobras, but the one for the 03 had a plug in the IAC hole. With the plug in, the idle would stick and hang. When I took the plug out, that problem would vanish, but then the car would idle about 1200 rpms. Then I could not adjust it with my tuner. It's like it took the IAC out of the loop!! With the plug in (eliminating the IAC) the TB has just enough space between the blades and the blade walls to let the car idle. I think it is a very bad design! I replaced the whole thinf with a ported TB and plenum!!
