car is bogging????????
i don't understand why, but i cannot get a good launch in my cobra it just seems to bog everytime unless i hold it out to like 4k rpms and then it just will screw my rear end. Occasionally it seems to work fine but i'd say 90% of the time it seems to not want to launch right. I try holding the rpms at about 2k and just let go of the clucth and it bogs. I try to do a normal yet quick take off and it bogs. What could possibly be the problem??????
also one more thing i forgot to add was that the car has 11,000 miles on it and the clutch seems fine its not slipping just bogging. Check out my video in my sig too because it kinda bogged there too at the track.
Saw your vid. Doesn't seem too bad for bone stock. It looked like you had some wheel hop going on there and maybe a little bogging going on. I would suggest that you get it on the dynamometer and hook it up to the computer... there are so many variables that it would be hard to say without really getting all of the info together and then taking some direct course of action. It can really save you a ton of money doing it right and planned out then if you were to just start shooting in the dark trying to fix this problem. You definitely need to look to see if you are getting proper boost out Eaton, that you are getting enough fuel/pressure, and that there is enough spark/proper timing... I have fewer horses to work with and get great a launch due to the rear gearing allowing the motor to "spool up" faster. So there is always that route, but it most likely isn’t the right one for your set up (terminator).

My car is not the greatest out of the hole either. It tries to bog a little. I think it is the stock 3.55 gears.

Your car looked ok to me in the vid. You are going to bog anytime you do a low rpm clutch dump. Have you tried launching at 4200rpm and slipping the clutch? It is all in the timing of clutch release and throttle application. Your car is running decent times for the mods. Yes, it can do a bit better, but if you want more out of the car then you need to push it a little. Go out and make sure you heat the tires well. Get a good white smoke off the tires for a few seconds. Line up and forget about the tree. Bring the revs up to 4200-4500. Dont be scared, but dont dump it either. When you are ready to launch(this is where the timing comes in) begin a controlled release of the clutch and increased throttle application at the same time. Its kind of difficult to describe. Something you just develope a feel for. Remember make sure you heat the tires well. You will get some violent wheel hop, if you dont melt'em some.
