I have a 01 Cobra that I picked up a couple of weeks ago and like everyone else it is time to start making it mine, cant do that much because they said it would void the warranty but the stock exhaust sounds terrible and I was wondering if I want a cat back system which would be the best. I was thinking about SLP's loudmouth system but was not sure. I am looking for that deep rumble sound like the old muscle cars sound like. Any info would be greatly appreciated
If you want the deep, old muscle car tone dont go with SLP. Its a straight through muffler. You wont get that kind of sound out of them. I think magnaflow sounds pretty mean, borlas always a good choice too. Try to find some sound clips.
i have the 99 cobra with the magna flow catback system and the x pipe. it has a great sound to it. when you let off the gas it even has a little pop to it. plus the system is all polished and has 3.5 tips that look really good. i recommend it.
I had magnaflow on my GT, I should have got it for the cobra. If you want I can make a short video of my car. I have the slp lm1 with the stock h-pipe for now.
Thanks, I was looking at the Flowmaster American Thunder catback system as well. If it sounds as good and it is on the cheaper side it is definately an option to look at.
Ill try to make a vid for you tomorrow. It actually doesnt sound raspy at all with the stock mid pipe. It sounds like a muscle car and when I downshift it back crackles like crazy.
