I have a 96 Cobra w/77k mi. Under hard acceleration in 1st or 2nd gear I hear a knock, only once and it is not very loud. It only happens from a hard launch or gunning from a slow roll. If I ease into gear it does not happen (but it is no fun). I have read that it has a factory limited slip not a t-lock. Is this true? Is this knock the limited slip diff engaging? I'm taking it easy for now (I do not want to break anything yet) I am about to have all the fluids changed tranny, oil, coolant and diff. I've only had the car 2 weeks and this is my first late model v8 stang so I'm a newb.

 

i would look at control arm bushings first....

 

I had a strange knocking sound after I installed my catbacks incorrectly.

 

Thanks, I did that on my V6. But, my Cobra is still stock for now till I get the little things worked out.
