Default O2 Sensors and engine light

I have a 98 SVT Cobra. I am running headers with flowmaster exhaust (no Cats) my "check engine Light" comes on and stays on until I have it scanned and cleared ..scan says rear o2 sensors are problem....from what I have read it would appear that replacing sensors won't help, how do I run my off-road exhaust setup and still have sensors do thier job controlling fuel mixture? or is this even a concern?

wasup man,

The problem with the o2 sensors is that you took off your cats. To fix the check engine light problem just buy some 02 sims or mill elimators and it will fix the problem. YOu can buy them from summit, jegs, just about anyone has them. Probably run you around 50 to 70 dollars. easy fix ! They will take place of the missing cats and trick the computer into thinking there are still cats on your car.

you can also invest in a tunner like the predator from Diablo Sport. With these types of tunners you can erase check fault codes. Also you can over ride the sensor problem.

Invest in mill eliminators (abut $40-50). or have a performance shop burn you a new chip to eliminate the check engine light.

I bought eliminators and they didnt work at all. I even called the tech from american muscle and he said he has recieved a large amount of returns for the cobras. Invest in a tuner. My favorite is SCT X3

I have one that pops on about 100 miles when I reset it. Says that the one bank isnt running to the efficiency that it should. Watching this tread.

i run my 03 cobra with no cats, and ive never had a problem with it coming on. The only time it actucally threw a CIL was when i forgot to screw one back on, and when i put it back on and reset it, i havent had a problem since. Maybe one of them is just old or bad? could be worth it to replace them and try that. if not i know they make kits to fix this problem as mentioned above.
