Ok I'm new to my 99 cobra vert I had a v6 so didn't need this question what are valves and how to tell how many I have and how many do I have on my cobra 99 5 speed

well the valves are what let the air into the cylinder and after it combusts the valve or valves let it back out.
so the 99' cobra has 4 valves per cylinder. 2 intake valves and 2 exhaust valves. so take 4 valves per cylinder times that by 8 (becasue it is a V-8 or 8 cylinder) and thats why it says 32valve on the valve cover on the engine. a mustang GT of the same yearwhich also has a V-8(99-04)only has 2 valves per cylinder (1 intake and 1 exhaust) and only 1 camshaft SOHC (single over head cam). the cobra has 2 camshafts thus you will see DOHC (dual over head cam). if you want more info go to www.howstuffworks.com you can see animations and it has a lot of useful information.

Oh ok that was a dumb question cuz I seen it on the engine so when the parts say four or two valves do I need the parts that say 32 valve or what

you need the parts that say 4 valve or 4v or DOHC and for suspension parts (i.e.springs) make sure you get things that work with IRS (independant rear suspension)
