long tubes or short tubes

Default long tubes or short tubes

i was planning on buying long tubes for my 99 cobra and was wondering what would be better i hear people say long tubes are better but i like how shorty's look but im undecided and i wanted to know if i get any headers would i need to get any other pipes to match currently i have flowmasters and wanted to know can i run long tubes with that set up or would i need something else

From my understanding, which could be totally wrong, I think most exhaust systems fit better with long tubes, as opposed to short.

Again I'm not sure about this, so if anyone knows differently, correct me =P

+1 on longtubes make exhaust fit better

Go with a set of long tubes and a good mid pipe (X or H) that match the long tubes your buying

i see some from bbk with the matching pipes but cant i still use my flowmaster pipes with the headers

I did. I bought Hooker LT headers and got the 3" pipes, custom h-pipe, cats and mufflers and just had a friend weld it all together. With long tube headers, you need a shorter mid-pipe and vise versa. LT's are more for torque and shortys are for top end power. Seeing how you have a cobra, dont worry about top end because you already have it.
