RE: 1999 cobra upgrade question
+1 on the Bassani headers, when I purchase headers Iwill go Bassani fa sho!! OH YA AND H PIPES ARE DOO DOO IMO!!!!! GET AN X-PIPE they sound mean and raspy. Don't get a MAF or a Throttle body unless you have a blower. Worthless mods unless you have forced induction, or you wannawaste money cause you can.

Gears will give you the most notable low end torque. If you have a 5 speed transmission I suggest 3.73's.

RE: 1999 cobra upgrade question
Hey guys,
I ended up going with this set up finally.
4.10 gears, cause 3.73's were already in it turns out and I wanted something with more pull.
I already had the x pipe with cats, so i had the shop cut off the cats. BTW, sounds awesome with the steeda side exhaust sytem.
I also got an SCT Livewire tuner and used the pre-programmed tune for the cobra it included. The guy at the shop changed some of the user options for me to make it perform better as well.
At a high reading in 4th gear, at 6500 rpms, going about 110-115, the livewire is showing 396 horsepower and 375 ft lbs of torque and another reading of 385 horsepower and 365 ft lbs of torque. All of my reading are pretty much in this area. I don't know how accurate it is, but I followed the instructions for measuring the HP and Torque. I even reset the thing in 4th gear to ensure it was as accurate as possible.
I got this car with only 1000 miles on the rebuilt engine and am starting to wonder if some work wasn't done on the heads or if maybe there are bigger cams in it or something else. I can't imagine that the tune and the gears and free flowing exhaust would produce that much of a horsepower increase over the initial 320 HP.
Anybody have any ideas or thoughts?
