Default CV Boot

I have a tear in my right rear boot on my '01 SVT. When I asked Ford to order me a new one, the parts guy couldn't find one. Then he says he figures you have to buy the whole shaft! Anybody run into this problem before? Is there a way to change the boot, or is the joint to big to get a boot over?

I'm pretty sure from ford it comes as the whole axle and not just the boot, but i've taken my axle out, and it possible to slip the boot off the joint and axle...if you can find a replacement

you can buy just a joint but its always cheaper to buy a new axle and a whole lot easier to put in. call NAPA and see if they list one.

depending on the tear you can use some blue silicone, i had a little tear when i lowered the car and a put a dab of silicone on it and built it up and have not had a problem since which has been 8 months
