Default thinking about buying a cobra

hello all. so i currently have a 67 coupe with a 302 as my daily driver. its fun and i love my car but now the gas is really starting to kill me. so i was considering buying a new car, well not new, just another one as a daily driver (pretty much anything gets better mpg then me). and im really leaning towards an 03 or 04 cobra. i figure if im gona get a new daily driver, why not make it fun as well right? but i have heard some bad reviews about the 03 and 04 cobras, but i figured who better to ask than people who own them. so i would like to know if you guys can give me some feedback on them, what do you guys recomend? and the ones ive been looking at run about 19,000 to 29,000 is that a fair price range?

Price seems reasonable but the only thing I'm concerned about is you wanting better gas mileage. I'm not sure what cobras get but I mean it is a supercharged V8.

If you do get it, I'm sure you'll have so much fun driving the car that you won't care too much about gas.

I don't have a cobra so I dont know jack about them. I do know they have lousy PTW clearance so don't boost in 5th or 6th (so i've read). Happy hunting.

I don't have an 03 or 04 but I do have a 99 cobra. The main complaint I hear about the terminators is the wheel hop and hesitation when shifting at WOT. Most upgrades I've heard are the IRS brace and bushings to help out the wheelhop and IRS problems. There is also a fix it for the hesitation: something about removal of something in the gas tank...not too sure on specifics.
Basically since you said it was a DD and not a drag strip car I wouldn't see the IRS or hesitation being a problem since they are only effected by racing.
The only other thing i know of is the ticking problem. No idea what it is or how to fix it. You might be able to do a search on that.

And on the gas subject as Triisomy21said above I doubt you'll get that great of gas milage out of it. I get about 15-17 mpg on my 99. But I do drive like a bat outta hell a lot.

from what ive heard and seen, the 03-04 should get around 20+, now this is without driving a 1/4 mile at a time and giving it a $h!t ton of gas

I get approx 15-16mpg city and 17-20mpg highway...

Most 03/04 Cobras are going for 23-to over35kdepending on condition, mods and where you are in the country. If you find one lower then 23k, i'd look over it really closely. Most Terminators aren't going lower then that.
