Default Cobra teksid blocks

I'm just wondering what year cobras came with the teksid blocks. I'm probably going to be buying a 99' this summer and some have told me the 99' has the teksid and some have told me it does not.

from what I've heard mid 96 through 98. I'm going to pick up my 99 cobra from the dealership on Thursday after its detailed etc. I just like the 99-04 look too much. Besides you can buy a good after market shortblock for 4K and drop it in a 99 or 01 cobra and make tons of power. Even in the 96-98 cobras you still need forged internals to make big numbers.

I figured the 99's didn't have a teksid. I am planing to forge a teksid and drop it in once I get a cobra. Are the heads diffrent on the teksid and the 99's - 01's?

The heads may be different from the 96-98 cobras and the 99-01s, but the blocks should be interchangable with the newer intake, etc.

I wonder which heads are stronger and which ones make more power.

I would put my money on the newer heads.

I would be putting blower cams in and stainless steel valves with better springs. I would also probably P&P the heads, intake manifold and etc.

Did a little research. The 99 heads make better power from the low end to middle RPM levels. However the old heads outflow the new at Max levels I think something like 225 to 231

I wonder what kind of redline number I would be looking at with a forged internals.
